MedPharm Expands End-to-End Proteomic Analysis Capabilities with Olink Certification

Certification adds targeted multiplex protein biomarker analysis to MedPharm’s research and translational testing capabilities.

MedPharm has become an Olink Certified Service Provider (CSP), making it the first Olink CSP in the Carolinas and one of three in the Southeastern U.S.

The addition of Olink technology allows MedPharm to combine proteomic data with disease models using reconstructed and ex vivo human tissues. The approach can help researchers evaluate therapeutic activity, biological responses and potential mechanisms of action in human-relevant models.

“Becoming an Olink Certified Service Provider extends MedPharm into targeted, multiplex protein biomarker analysis for the first time,” said Jon Lenn, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, MedPharm. “We are the only contract research organization with Certified Service Provider status in the Carolinas, and this platform lets us bring that capability to sponsors directly rather than through a third party. This certification is also the first step in a broader plan to expand MedPharm’s capabilities as a contract research organization, supporting clinical trial sample analysis and translational models that support clinical development.”

The Olink platform uses Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, which combines dual antibody recognition of target proteins with a DNA-based readout. The technology can measure protein biomarkers from sample volumes as small as 1 µL and supports both absolute and relative protein measurements across low- and high-abundance targets.

MedPharm has operations in the U.S. and UK, as well as a partnership network in Belgium.
